The Story

ScenicShift was born during my husband’s very predictable midlife crisis: he bought a sports car.

The problem? We were driving this beautiful machine mostly on interstates, which felt like owning a racehorse and using it to pull a shopping cart.

We wanted the roads a sports car is actually made for—winding backroads, beautiful scenery, sweeping curves, and drives where getting there is half the fun.

So I built ScenicShift for anyone who would rather take the better road instead of the faster one.

You don’t need a fancy car. You just need to enjoy the drive.

His midlife crisis. Turns out it had a purpose.

What's inside
01

Roads scored, not just routed

Curvature, flow, and pace feed a score that ranks a road on how good it is to drive.

02

Scenery weighting

Coastline, elevation, and open country get pulled up the ranking. Strip malls get pushed down.

03

Off the beaten path

Surfaces the roads that routing engines skip because they are two minutes slower.

04

Save and share drives

Keep the ones worth repeating and hand them to whoever is coming along next time.
