Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what ScenicShift collects, why it collects it, and what control you have over it. ScenicShift is built and operated independently by Tehmina Tajik. The short version: the app collects the minimum it needs to work, and none of it is sold.
Information we collect
App settings and preferences you set, basic diagnostic and crash data, and the specific data the app needs to do its job (described below). We do not collect your name, address, or contacts, and there is no third-party advertising SDK in the app.
How ScenicShift uses your data
ScenicShift uses your location to plot routes and score nearby roads. Saved drives and route history are stored so you can return to them. Location data is not sold, brokered, or used for advertising.
Analytics and diagnostics
Aggregated, non-identifying usage and crash reports help find bugs and decide what to build next. These reports are not linked to your identity and cannot be used to single you out.
Third-party services
The app communicates with third-party data providers to fetch the content it displays. These requests are limited to what is needed to fulfil them and are governed by those providers’ own privacy policies. We do not share your personal data with them for marketing.
Data retention and storage
Data stays on your device wherever it can. Anything stored on our side is kept only as long as it is needed for the feature it supports, then deleted. Data in transit is encrypted.
Your choices and rights
You can revoke permissions such as location or notifications at any time in iOS Settings; the app will keep working with reduced functionality. You may request a copy or deletion of any data associated with you by emailing tktajik@gmail.com, and deleting the app removes locally stored data.
Children
ScenicShift is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as the app evolves. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision, and significant changes will be surfaced in the app.
